The Moon
The Moon, in Astrology, is the ruler of Cancer. The Moon represents our deepest personal needs, our basic habits and reactions, and our unconscious.
The Moon is associated with the mother and with feminine energy in general. The Moon is both our inner child and our inner mother. It is responsive, receptive, and reflective. The Moon is our spontaneous and instinctual reactions.

Moon gives changeable nature and rules over personality and form. Moon is considered as a mind of kalpurush. Moon is the queen of solar system. She is the Virgin Mary of the Roman Catholics and the mother of the Heavens. While the Sun pours spirit and life to all planetary bodies, the moon governs over the life of the beings on earth. She is the Luna (Diana), the Queen of the night. She is the Goddess and also a huntress. She governs chastity as well as fertility.

According to Vedic astrology, Moon is the Karak planet of mind and fourth house in a Kundali. Moon is also considered the Karak planet of rice, sugar crystals, Kheer, ghee, white flowers, camphor, white fruits and other white objects. Moon is also the Karak planet of liquids. It is the Karaka planet for Pearl in gemstones and silver in metals.

Moon is the Karak for winter season, ponds, queens and issues related to intelligence. Moon is considered to be neutral and restless. Hence, Moon is also the Karak planet for politeness, soft speech and generosity. If a person is born at night, Moon will be the Karak planet of mother. Otherwise, this right would be given to Venus.

Moon provides auspicious and inauspicious results for the things which are controlled by it. These results will depend on the position of Moon in the Kundali.
